I’m looking forward to doing a public reading of my poems about Nellie Bly (1864 – 1922) for the first time on Light Night on 17 May. The poems from my collection in progress – Insane Places – speak through Nellie as she’s trapped on Blackwell Island Insane Asylum, New York for ten days in the disguise of Nellie Moreno/Brown. I am a writer & poet based in Liverpool. My ninth poetry publication – Vestige (Maytree Press, 2023) is a collaboration with photographer, AJ. Wilkinson. A recipient of 2021 Saboteur Award & a MaxLiteracy Award I am a Royal Literary Fund Fellow at the University of Chester.
