Liverpool Elegies (2015) This has been an inspiring project – funded by Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group – run by North End Writers. I’ve been Project Lead, delighted to work with Aileen La Tourette as our Visiting Writer and Maria Isakova Bennett as our Project Support Assistant, wonderful artists, both. We were also thrilled to have as our project books ‘Strands’ by Jean Sprackland and ‘And You, Helen’ by Deryn Rees-Jones.
Mossley Hill Writing Group
As part of the North End Writers-Mersey Care NHS Trust partnership project for which I work as Poet-in-Residence this group started up in February 2014, for service-users of the Mossley Hill Community Mental Health team. We performed our readings about the War at Home in commemoration of World War One on Monday 23rd June 2014 for staff and family. We also presented readings of our work at the Association of Cognitive Therapists conference, Liverpool Hope University in July 2014, and at Central Library, Liverpool on World Mental health day (Oct 10th, 2014). We continued with our project The Gifts of Age until March 2015. In the Summer we have been preparing our forthcoming book which will be published in the Autumn and have enjoyed writing to the theme of Sea-faring at our weekly workshops now being held at Sudley House, National Museums, Liverpool. We are rounding off our Summer programme with a reading at the Wirral Festival of First this coming Saturday, 11th July 2015. We will resume our Autumn programme in September.
